End of season / Fin de notre saison

I wanted to thank everyone for a good last day of the season yesterday.  Our sale was a big success, and it was so nice to see people, share a hot apple cider with them and wish them a happy end to 2014.

We are now taking orders for our Chocolate Christmas Yule logs.  Pick up dates for the logs will be Sunday Dec 21st and Monday Dec 22nd.  All orders must be in by November 14th, so please don’t delay in emailing us with your information if you would like one reserved for your holidays.

La Cigale will be opening again Easter weekend.  This year Easter is early, so just keep in mind, you won’t have to wait so long to taste your favorite flavours again.

As for Maggie and I, we will be busy behind the scenes, cleaning this place, touching up the paint job and planning for next year.  If you have any comments or suggestion please send them along, or give us a review on Trip Advisor.  We always love to hear from you.

Happy Holidays to everyone and see you in the spring.Maggie and Chris goodbye

First days

It’s so nice to be open again and see all the happy faces of customer’s excited to have their first ice cream of the season.   Sunny afternoons are cheering everyone up and bringing them out of doors.  Day 2 and it’s been a great opening.  Lots of familiar faces and and big smiles. There may still be snow on the ground, but it’s feeling like spring at last!

It’s here!!!

Opening day is tomorrow.  I feel like a kid the day before Christmas.  It’s funny that after 13 years, I still get so excited about opening for the season.  Maggie and I were out trying to move snow to make it look more inviting.  Now it’s up to the sun.  Come on sun!

Oh well, we hope that others will be as excited as we are and come out despite the fact that spring is dragging it’s feet.  We’re digging out the adirondak chairs and filling up the porch.  Come join us for some fresh ice cream and help us encourage spring on!

1st day of spring?

Isn’t today suppose to be the first day of spring? When I woke up and looked out the window, I saw a beautiful winter scene.  With 30cm of fresh snow, it looks like a postcard – Christmas postcard that is.  We open in less than 10 days, Good Friday.  But I have to ask myself, will anyone be in the mood for ice cream?
